The president’s day on Presidents‘ Day
Happy Presidents’ Day from the Oval! It’s a federal holiday, established to honor the February birthdays of the nation’s first president, George Washington, who helped found the country, and the nation’s 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, who helped keep the country together.
Contrary to his original plan, the nation’s 44th president will be spending the day at the White House. President Obama headed up to Camp David yesterday afternoon for a Valentine’s Day dinner with First Lady Michelle Obama, but the First Family scrubbed their overnight plans to return to Washington last night.( read more )
